Gyminee Project Phase 3

Phase 3: Cardio

Step 1: Sign up for a cardio workout

Go to workout programs and find workout programs. Type in CARDIO and choose a workout program you can try out (either in a free gym session in class or on your own). Join the program.

Step 2: Try out the workout program you selected.

Go to workouts and click click submit progress.

Step 3: Let the group know

  • Go to group
  • Go to group messages
  • Write a short message on what you thought of the workout.
  • If you like a workout, you can recommend it to the group.

How?

  • In the group, go to the bottom and click recommend a program
  • Find the program you want to recommend
  • Click on the right side of the program to recommend it!

Step 4: Create a Cardio workout

  • In Gyminee, click on the “Workouts” tab and on the right-hand side, click on “Create a New Workout” – You will be applying the F.I.T.T. principles during your program design.

  • Workout Title: Suggested titles: Cardiovascular Workout, cardio outdoors,5K Training, Running workout, Indoor Cardio… whatever you think best

    describes the cardio session.

  • Description: List or explain your cardiovascular goals relative to this session. For instance, “to work on improving my intervals” or to “improve

cardiovascular endurance while cross training,” etc…

  • Suggest a Schedule (Frequency): Select the days in which you will perform your cardiovascular workout. Be sure to select days you know will

    fit into your schedule.

  • Add Exercise (Type): Under “type” select cardio, then add the exercises you wish to perform. You must provide at least 3 different exercise

options (either within one workout or across 2 or 3 different cardio workouts).

    - You must include the duration (Time) for each exercise

    - You must include the THR for each exercise (put this information where it says “Ave Grade” (Intensity)

  • Feel free to “Add a Custom Exercise” if you find that the options in the database do list the activity you want to do (for instance, Nintendo Wii).

  • Note: Let’s say you want to do kayaking on Saturdays and treadmill on Mondays and Wednesdays. You will have to create 2 separate custom

cardio workouts. Perhaps name one “Cardio outdoors” and the other “Cardio in the gym”. Remember, each custom workout represents ONE

    workout session.
