Tracking your Nutrition

For one full week (7 days), you must track the foods you eat to see if you are talking in the required calories.

How?

  • Click on Nutrition

  • Type in the food they you ate. E.g. toast, whole wheat, 2 slices. As you can see below, there are many kinds of whole wheat toast so you can get very specific.
  • When you click on "quick add", you can add in the amount, for me it would be 2 servings if 1 serving is 1 piece of toast.

  • If you click "I ate this", you can enter in foods you ate at any given day, just in case you forget to enter the foods on a certain day. Or if you eat cereal every morning for example, you can change the date and enter in cereal.
  • If you have some types of foods frequently, click on favorite to put it in your list. This way you can easily find your foods without searching for them again.
  • To get to your favorite foods, click "nutrition" on the top and "my favorites" on the right for easy access.
  • Remember to add everything you eat AND drink! Even snacks!
  • When you look at your "nutrition log", you can see how many calories you need and where they should come from. The challenge is to try to meet the calorie intake.
  • When you do the nutrition log, be sure to enter your physical workouts as well as when you are active, you will need more calories.
  • The goal is to get an A on calorie intake!

Example: See how I met my calorie goal but had too many carbs and not enough fats and protein, even though I was close! This is not unuasual, as people tend to eat more carbs than other foods. Tracking your food intake can help you find out how much you eat and what you eat in order to help you find a balanced diet.

  • Note that you should also track your water intake! You need to aim for 7 glasses at day or more.

Final Reflection.

At the end of the course, please send me a private message to share your perceptions of doing this projects.

What did you like about it?

What was challenging?

Do you think you would keep the gyminee workout log going or not? And why?

Any suggestions for future classes I will be teaching?

Thank you for participating in this project! I hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot!
